Frequently Asked Questions – Gloss Veneers

What are Gloss Veneers, and how do they work?

Gloss Veneers are a revolutionary dental solution designed to enhance the appearance of your teeth.  They are thin, custom-made shells that are bonded to the front surface of your teeth to give your smile a uniform, aesthetically pleasing appearance.  Gloss Veneers are known for their strength, aesthetics, and minimally invasive application.  They can correct various dental imperfections such as stains, chips, gaps and more.

Are Gloss Veneers the same as traditional veneers?

Gloss Veneers, also known as Gloss Hybrid Veneers, combine the benefits of traditional ceramic (porcelain) veneers and composite veneers.  They offer high strength (5x stronger than composite) while being minimally invaisive (no drilling), unlike traditional porcelain veneers.

What dental issues can Gloss Veneers address?

Gloss Veneers are versatile and can address a range of cosmetic dental concerns, including discolouration, chipped teeth, mild misalignments, gaps and worn enamel.  They are designed to enhance the aesthetics of your smile.

How long does it take to get Gloss Veneers?

The application of Gloss Veneers typically requires just one or two visits to a Gloss Dentist.  During the initial visit, your dentist will take a digital 3D scan of your teeth.  In the second visit, your custom-made veneers will be bonded in place in about 30 minutes.  It may seem too good to be true, but it really is that simple!

Do Gloss Veneers require any tooth reduction or drilling?

Gloss Veneers are minimally invasive and in 99% of cases do not require tooth reduction or drilling.  They are designed to preserve as much of your natural tooth structure as possible.

Do Gloss Veneers look natural?

Yes, Gloss Veneers are renowned for their natural appearance.  They are custom-crafted to match your teeth contours, ensuring a seamless and life like smile enhancement.  We would recommend whitening the teeth first to get the best possible match.

Are Gloss Veneers Permanent?

No matter what you read, no dental work is forever.  While Gloss Veneers are a long-term solution, they may require minimal maintenance or replacement over time.  With proper care and regular dental check-ups, they can last for many years.  As a rule of thumb composite veneers last approximately 5-7 years, ceramic veneers that are well maintained last approximately 10-15 years and Gloss Veneers will last approximately 8-12 years.  Poorly looked after teeth will always fail sooner, restorations in tooth grinders might also last for a shorter amount of time.

Will I experience discomfort during or after the Gloss Veneers application?

As we are just fitting the veneers to your natural teeth without drilling, there is little in the way of discomfort.  If you can drink a glass of water without discomfort, you can have your Gloss Veneers fitted without discomfort.

Can I eat and drink normally with Gloss Veneers?

Yes, Gloss Veneers are durable and can withstand normal eating and drinking habits; however, it’s advisable to avoid excessively hard or sticky foods that may potentially damage the veneers.

Will I need time to get used to my new teeth?

The mouth is exceptionally sensitive to changes.  Even a small grain of sand feels like a huge annoyance.  As we are adding to your teeth and changing the shape of them, there will always be a little bit of getting used to the feel.  Most patients will get used to their new teeth in a few days and they will feel as natural as before in no time.  We also notice that patients who do not like their old teeth tend to struggle smiling confidently.  As you get used to your new Gloss Veneers you will find you need to get used to smiling more!
